Like most men on this planet, I also have just one desire: to find the best head shaver, that shaves even the tiniest hairs in a jiffy and with neatness. Is that too much to ask? Well, it’s not.
You might think that all head shavers work more or less in the same manner.
However, the truth is not so simple. Locating the ideal head shaver is not so easy. Especially if you are on the lookout for an electric one, the specifications might be confusing.
I am here to simplify things for you. In my entire shaving journey, I have personally used and experimented with many razors, from multiple companies – small and big.
This guide is a testament to my experiences and reviews

By the end of this piece, you will have 2023’s 10 of the best electric head shavers that must be on your shopping cart this weekend. So, let’s dive right in and help you pick your best head shaver!
Electric Head Shavers and Razor Blades: What is the Difference?
Now, when you read the title of this piece, you must have wondered, “Why choose an electric head shaver?” Especially if you already own a razor blade or have used one in the past, you might have this query.
Well, I’ll answer it just in a moment.
As I stated earlier, this article is about my personal experience. I have had my fair share of usage time with razor blades as well, and I have just one thing to say: they are not worth it!
Once you switch to an electric head shaver you will understand that it provides safety, efficiency and the best head shave that you could have ever imagined! While some people, might not agree with me on this, I would urge you all to give at least one of our selected head shavers a try.
Let’s discuss some practical advantages of an electric head shaver. Well, firstly, they are super easy and convenient to use. They require absolutely no frills and extra products for usage.
For instance, if you are an avid traveler like me, all you would have to do is pop your head shaver in your bag pack, and you are good to go!
However, with a traditional razor blade, you would need to have your shaving foam and extra products for wet shaving. Why make your luggage heavier and life harder? Especially if you are a beginner, take it from me, invest in a good quality electric head shaver, boy, go for it!
Moving on, another man benefit for me is the easy learning curve of an electric head shaver. You will be done with your shave in a jiffy and you can actually save ample time.
For people who are always on the go and have to reach their workplaces on time (hint: corporate users), this accessory is a blessing.
Also, if you have sensitive, acne prone skin an electric head shaver can actually reduce your skin irritation. Why is that so? Well, it’s all in the making of these pieces. They are manufactured with a guarded blade which automatically diminishes the chances of getting cuts or stubborn ingrown hair.
Your skin will be as soft as a baby’s bum and you will be thankful for your purchase.
Now comes the most important point: the cost. Well, I won’t lie, electric shavers are a bit costly. It does require you to use up some amount from your savings, but, there’s a silver lining here as well.
Once you make the investment and use the product with care, electric shavers can easily last you up to three years or more.
Plus, with razors, you would have to keep replacing cartridges every now and then which is a hassle for many.
But, with an electric shaver, one blade can easily last a year so you would not have to worry about any additional costs.
In my opinion, investments should always be lucrative, and well, this one will surely satisfy your needs as a user!
Choosing Your Ideal Head Shaver: Major Categories
When selecting an electric head shaver, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. What works well for you might not suit me and vice versa. Hence, it is always important to make a list of your needs and expectations from a certain product, and then head out to the market or browse online to find the perfect fit.
To make things a tad bit easier for you, I have categorized electric head shaves into two major groups: one for facial hair and the other ones are purely dedicated for the head. Confused? Let’s go into the details and you will understand.
Electric Shavers for the Face
The shavers included in this group are your typical models: foil and rotary. These are mostly utilized for facial hair.
However, you must also remember that any electric shaver can easily function as a head shaver as well.
The only prerequisite is that your hair must be short for it to work at its best potential.
Also, remember one key stat; your hair length must be less than 1.5mm to get a truly dazzling shave. Long hair is not recommended to be trimmed by these shavers.
The best part about these shavers is that they work beautifully. They will cut your hair quite close to the skin and this is because of their top-notch blades and exclusive motors.
And, they can obviously handle the hair on your head just as efficiently as well. Do you want to rock a completely bald look? Trust these electric head shavers to deliver!
You can call these shavers a two-in-one package, meaning if you buy just one model you will be sorted for all your hair trimming/cutting/ shaving needs! Phew! What more does a man want?
Now comes the important part. As promised, I will not only be praising these shavers. Just like any other accessory, these grooming tools also have their potential flaws.
Let’s talk about the first one. Well, it is a fact that these shavers are not created for use on the head.
See, we have a very logical and easy reason behind that. Your head is large and spherical, while your face is a flat surface.
This implies that while using an electric razor, you will have to go the extra mile and require more strokes for perfection.
Moving on, the second drawback is the grip of the shaver. When you start shaving your head, it is extremely difficult to view the backside.
You would have to extend your hands in an uneasy position and well, you would easily give up and let the hair remain as they are.
This disadvantage fosters the fact that these shavers are truly designed to be used on the face, because well, you can see exactly what is going on with your hair and work the shaver accordingly.
I would suggest that with constant usage and practice, you might be able to wrap your head around these shavers.
But again, why go through the hassle, when there are designated shavers created for this purpose? Let’s go to this next group for all of you who want to shave your head!
Designated Head Trimmers and Head Shavers
If you are on the lookout for a good-quality electric head shaver, this category is for you. As I mentioned above, your head is spherical in shape, and these designated electric head shavers are designed to accommodate that.
In recent times, I have come across a number of DIY electric head shavers. These are typically rotary and possess 3 to 6 shaving heads.
Now, the major difference between the two categories is the grip and ease of holding. You will be able to reach the back of your head quite easily with these razors because their grip is perfect and it is manufactured with the user in mind.
Moreover, these shavers are fully capable of providing precise and close shaves on the head. So in summary – if you want to shave your head, look for a model designated particularly for this purpose.
For all those wondering, yes you can shave your face with these, but you won’t get the radiant finish as you might achieve with a top-notch Braun or Philips razor.
Now, as our heading says “designated head trimmers and shavers”, we talked about the shavers, what about the trimmers? Let’s get into those as well.
Using shearing blades commonly found on your typical trimmers and hair clippers, is a viable option too. For instance, the Remington HC4250 can be cited as a good example here. The model works seamlessly as a clipper for shaving the head.
The body of these trimmers is where the magic happens. They are designed to provide ease and comfort while you are trying to cut your hair.
One main benefit is that if you have longer hair, these are best for you. However, there are certain drawbacks as well which are important to discuss here.
For one, they will not shave as close as a head shaver or rotary foils, but I think that is understandable. At the end of the day, these are clippers, not professional shavers.
For users not looking for perfection, these are a great option.
For example, if you want to achieve a short buzz-cut look, these clippers work pretty well. But, if you are looking for a shiny bald head, these might not cut the chase for you.
Essentially, it all boils down to your requirements and needs.
Now, we will jump to our next section, and examine the extensive list that I created for you. These electric head shavers made their mark on my life, and I hope they will help you choose your perfect pick as well!
Best Electric Head Shavers for Men in 2023
1. Skull Shaver Pitbull Gold PRO
Pros
- Phenomenal battery life
- Efficient shaving mechanism
- Cleaning is easy
Cons
- Customer support is not responsive
- Expensive
Skull Shaver has been around for quite some time now. It has positioned itself as a reliable brand for electric razors, with the first shavers being sold on Amazon in 2012 (yes, they are that old).
They sell patented designs which has become one of their basic selling points.
However, we cannot just rely on the company because it is old. In the past, their products have been in hot waters for various issues. I used their Skull Shaver Palm and the Bald Eagle Pro, and my experience was not amazing, to be honest.
While the shavers worked impeccably, they had a lot of battery issues and technical deficiencies. This is why I was extremely skeptical about trying out the Pitbull Gold Pro.
Exceptional Blades
However, I dived into it because well, this is the fifth generation of their head shavers, and the company claims to have addressed all past issues with these models. They are provided in three variations named the Silver, Gold, and Platinum PRO.
Model | Silver PRO | Gold PRO | Platinum PRO |
---|---|---|---|
Battery life | 60 minutes | 90 minutes | 90 minutes |
Display | Single LED | Percentage-based | Percentage-based |
Motor | Less powerful | Powerful | Powerful |
Blades | Carver | Forte | Forte |
Accessories | Travel pouch, brush, usb cable, charger | Travel pouch, brush, usb cable, charger | Rinse stand, hard travel case, brush, usb cable, charger |
Now, you must be wondering which one to choose among the three. Well, I’ll tell you some differences between these models for your ease.
The performances will be more or less the same, the major differences are with respect to display, color, and accessories.
The Silver PRO has been manufactured with a reliable motor, but it is less powerful than the other two variations. So, in my opinion, the performance will be affected.
Moving on, my primary concern with shavers is always the battery time. You would not want your shave to be left incomplete midway because of a battery problem.
The Silver PRO comes with a runtime of about an hour. While that is impressive, it does not compare to the other two models which are equipped with a hefty 90-minute runtime and that too cordless.
Hence, in my opinion, the Pitbull Gold PRO was the best pick among all three.
I have used the model for over a month before penning down this extensive review, so you can be rest assured about the verdict that will come below.
So first things first. Why is this shaver a reliable pick? How does it shave the head? Well, it is a rotary shaver, with 4 rotary cutters. They can easily rotate, bend, and flex in accordance with your head shape, and they maintain contact with the scalp quite effectively.
The model is also quite comfortable and cut even the closest of hair to my skin with grace and ease. (Bonus points for that)
It is not difficult to clean and rinse the blades, since they come off easily. The blades fitted in this model are popularly named Forte PRO 4 by the company. The box states that these are hypoallergenic and curated from top-notch Japanese steel.
Now, the thing with stainless steel is that it works best for sensitive skin and long hair, and you will not face any allergies or rusting of the blades – ever.
You will also be spared of the irritation that usually comes with razors. I have used many razors and a lot of them turned my neck red with itching and rashes. Fortunately, with the Pitbull Gold PRO, there was no such thing. The shave was smooth and I experienced no discomfort.
Moving on, as you know, battery life is essential for me when choosing a shaver. The Pitbull Gold PRO comes with an integrated 1400 mAh lithium-ion battery which can easily be charged with a USB cable.
The charging mechanism is effective and can be achieved by beginners as well.
One of the main highlights of this shaver is its ergonomic handle. The company has paid special attention to this feature, and you can hold the razor between your fingers easily.
If you utilize overlapping circular movements, there is nothing that can stop you from getting that perfect and close shave!
I have had my fair share of annoyances with shavers that weren’t waterproof. Hence, when I saw that the Pitbull Gold PRO is waterproof with IPX5, it was a must-try for me.
Waterproof shavers can be sanitized in the blink of an eye with your regular tap water. So no more wasting your time behind something as simple as cleaning and rinsing after shaving.
Here’s a quick video review for Pitbull Gold PRO. (The Best Review So Far)
If you are wondering, yes, you can use this shaver on your face as well. However, it is my job to inform you that you won’t get the same quality as a foil shaver. It will get your shave done, but not as precisely as some people like their shave to be.
So with that statement, we come to an end of this review. The Pitbull Gold PRO hit the sweet spot for me in terms of effectiveness and precision. However, we have a whole array of shavers coming up, so don’t stop here. Maybe you will find your best pick in any of the models listed below, so keep reading!
2. Skull Shaver Palm
Pros
- Comfortable shave
- Flexible blades
- Affordable as compared to other models
Cons
- Not as effective as the Pitbull line
- Customer support not responsive
This is the latest release from Skull Shaver. Remember, the first model on our list? Yes, this is the same company. The Skull Shaver Palm is basically a smaller iteration of the previous model.
Although the name suggests that it is a head shaver, my research tells me that you can use it on the face as well! My purpose behind buying and using this model was to get my head shaved quickly and with ease, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
Let’s dive into the details, shall we?
The model consists of 3 cutting elements and is also called the Palm 3. On a side note, the company has stated that the palm shaver can be used with the 4 and 5 blade shaving heads as well. So, don’t worry, you can always upgrade later!
I featured this model in my list specifically for budget-conscious consumers. It contains most of the features that we witnessed in the Pitbull Gold PRO, at a much cheaper price.
However, you must note that it is not that speedy and efficient. But, in my opinion, for the price and technologies offered, it’s not a bad pick.
Starting with the body, this shaver can easily be placed between your fingers and enables you to shave the back of your head with utmost ease. It essentially glides over the curves of your skull, shaving as close as possible.
The huge pivoting blades make the whole process much easier.
Another interesting feature of this shaver is the nose and ear trimmer attachments. You can easily switch the shaving attachment to change the purpose of the shaver. I loved this feature, to be honest. It should be seen more in electric shavers.
Moving on, to the elephant in the room – the battery. With a cordless operation, the Skull Shaver Palm did not disappoint me. The lithium-ion battery can be charged easily through the USB lead, and it gave me 60 minutes of usage which I think is good enough for the price that is being offered.
This model is also touted to be waterproof, just like the Pitbull Gold PRO. Just open the head and rinse it with cold tap water, and you are done. No extra attachments or cleaning utensils are needed which is a huge plus point!
You can use the shaver in two ways: dry or with a good quality shaving cream.
When I used it to wet-shave, I was pleasantly surprised. The model performed effectively and did its intended job within the nick of time.
I cannot compare its performance to a razor though. But that’s okay because a light stubble does no harm, and I was satisfied overall.
Here’s a tip for you: whenever you are wet shaving, make sure to clean out all the water from the blade head. If you skip this, there will be a huge mess because water will be dripping all over, and it will just make your job harder.
The Skull Shaver Palm can also be your reliable travel partner, with its USB charging and easy cleaning. Just pop it in your bag and rush off without worrying about extra accouterments.
In essence, it will suit anyone who wants a quick shave, but don’t expect the precision and quality of a cartridge or razor, or you will end up disappointed.
3. Remington Balder Pro (XR7000)
Pros
- Fully waterproof
- Trimmer included
- Impeccable grip
Cons
- Flexibility needs to be improved.
- Battery life is not good enough.
If you are an avid shaver and always looking for new gadgets, Remington is a fine name to be aware of. This American brand started its operations in 1937 and has been on the forefront of personal care products ever since.
You will find everything under their name, be it electric razors, shavers, hair clippers, or trimmers. You name it and Remington has it!
When I came across their Balder Pro shaver, I was surprised. At first glance, it looked highly similar to the Skull Shaver that I discussed above.
It can easily be called an alternative to that shaver, at a fairly reasonable price.
Remington has made some huge claims about this product. The tagline “Shaves in Less than 2 Minutes” enticed me the most. I was quite eager to check whether this claim is true or not.
I have used the XR7000 for about a month before putting it in this list. Let’s get started with my experience.
This shaver basically has the same shape and design as the Skull Shaver i.e. 5 sharp flexible rotary cutters all set to mold themselves in accordance with your head shape.
The rotary cutters can easily flex inward, keeping close contact with the scalp and shaving up to a whopping 0.2mm (another extraordinary claim by Remington!)
When I used this shaver for the first time, I was a bit disappointed with the flexibility of the head design. Don’t take me wrong, it wasn’t pathetic, but it wasn’t as good as other brands that I have tested.
Nevertheless, there were some pretty great things about this model too, so don’t stop reading yet.
The body of the XR7000 is nothing short of amazing. The shaver fits into your hand like a glove and the rubber grips provided at the sides just make the whole process a lot easier. No matter if you are wet shaving or dry shaving, this product does not slip.
Trust me, I tried it with a lot of slippery lather, the product did not budge from my hands, so bonus points to Remington for that.
Here we come to the blades again. They can be easily clipped on and off as per your convenience. The entire mechanism is quite robust, so you don’t have to worry about the lasting.
Talking about cleaning, well, that is a breeze too. The hair is simply collected within the product and all you have to do is rinse and empty it post shaving.
The battery life is somewhat in the middle. Not too bad, but not too good either. The shaver can be used cordless for a total of 50 minutes.
While I think that 50 minutes is enough for some decent shaves, Remington could do a bit better in this area.
The model does not have the newest technological LED screens, but they have given charging lights that clearly indicate when the battery is about to finish.
It took me around two hours to fully charge the shaver. So all in all, I wouldn’t worry a lot about this aspect, considering the price and reliability of the product as a whole.
Now, speaking of huge claims, Remington has come up with another one. They state that this shaver is 100% waterproof. Yes, you read that right. Well, I tested it, and let’s see my verdict.
I tested this shaver in the shower without any shaving cream. I decided to shave my head as it is, and boy, was I surprised. The product glided on like a breeze. There was no slipping, no cuts and the smoothness was astounding for me.
After this, I decided to experiment some more. Since Remington claims that the product is 100% waterproof, would it deliver the same results after being fully submerged in liquid? Well, I tried it. Let’s see.
The Balder Pro delivered! I wouldn’t suggest anybody to shave or experiment underwater, but if you must, then why not? Go ahead and enjoy.
Performance-wise, I would say that the Balder Pro is very similar to the Pitbull Gold Pro. The latter is a bit more convenient to use because of a smaller head, but nevertheless, the difference isn’t huge.
In conclusion, Remington’s claims passed, the company really knows what it is doing!
Now, let me tell you an intriguing aspect of this shaver. For all of us who love precision and detailing, Remington has outfitted the XR7000 with a pop-up trimmer.
Yes! You heard that right. This unique trimmer can easily be released from the front side for trimming short ingrown hair or for those stubborn sideburns that need a sensitive blade.
So, if you want a sharp beard or a side design, this model will be your best pick.
Speaking of warranty, if you register for this product online, Remington grants you a 100-day money-back guarantee which is quite impressive.
You can easily use and test it without the fear of wasting your hard-earned money.
Now, if you are wondering, “What about my facial hair?” I am here to help you out. Even though Remington says that it is not intended for facial usage, I tried it, regardless.
The shave wasn’t impeccable or too close. I think the model is designed to work better with soft head hair instead of coarse and thick facial hair.
Moreover, the rotary blades are way too big for the shape of your neck and face, so my advice: use this one only on the head and enjoy!
4. Braun Series 9 9330s
Pros
- Suitable for usage on the face and head
- Fitted with latest technologies
Cons
- Mediocre battery life
Now that you have reached here, I want to give you an insight. If you possess a typical electric razor, you must have contemplated using it on your head as well.
After all, not all of us want to go through the struggle of buying two different products for shaving the head and face respectively. This model on my list can solve your problem, provided that you use it carefully, especially on the back of your head.
Yes, we are talking about the infamous Braun Series 9! This reliable series is one of the most sold products from Braun and can be used on both the head and the face simultaneously.
Braun has really outdone itself with this shaver. Featuring outclass technologies and attachments, you will fall in love with this model; just like I did.
The 9330s is the latest iteration that I have tested and reviewed extensively. To start off, this shaver is foil-type, with 5 varying shaving elements at your disposal.
Let’s talk about some technicalities. Might seem boring, but it’s important to discuss them here.
Braun has created the shaving head with a lot of precision. It contains a Hyperlift and Cut element, two Opti-Foils, a skin guard, and one Direct and Cut element.
All these elements work in tandem to create the perfect shave that you desire. They have a huge range of movement and can handle any type of hair, be it long, thick, curly, or flat.
The company has really paid attention to delivering everything in one product, and it does not fail, as you will see ahead!
The closeness of the shave is also something worth noticing. When I used this shaver at the back of my head; it performed much better than dedicated head shavers, so I was surely surprised and impressed.
One key stat that caught my eye while reading the description was this: the shaver delivers 40,000 cross-cutting actions per minute!
Now, can you believe it? The number is huge, and it all helps to make your shaving faster, easier, and more comfortable.
Another technology that Braun has used and promoted is Autosense Technology. Now what does this do? According to my knowledge, this marvel detects your beard density.
As different people buy and use the shaver, it adjusts and responds intelligently with the correct power according to your hair size.
This is a feature that I would honestly love to see in some more shavers. It creates a sense of individuality and creates trust in the customer’s hearts because well, the company is catering to individual differences, isn’t it?
If you have sensitive skin, you’re in luck. This shaver has a feature named sonic vibration technology within the cutting elements. This technology delivers vibrations while you shave, making sure that your skin remains smooth and silky.
Essentially, the shaver feels like a massage, it relaxes you while getting the job done seamlessly.
Moving on, the 9 series claims to work well with both – dry and wet shaving. I tested it out and the claim is true.
First, I used loads of shaving foam and the results were good, with no burns or irritation.
During dry shaving, I made full use of the precision trimmer that Braun has provided with the 9330s. I used the trimmer to cut off the long length of my beard and the results were, let’s say not as perfect as a professional trimmer.
However, I would compromise on this aspect and not think much about it.
When you check other foil shavers in the industry, I would say that the Braun Series 9 undoubtedly comes out on top.
This shaver doesn’t come with a cleaning station, but Braun gives you the option to buy it later as per your convenience.
Lastly, I would like to comment on the battery. The Braun series 9 comes with a powerful Lithium-ion battery and will give you up to 60 minutes of cordless performance. While this is a good thing, I have seen many shavers with more extensive battery timings.
One good thing is that it provides a quick charge feature. So whenever you are in a hurry, all you have to do is plug in your shaver for 4-5 minutes and voilà! You can easily get an impressive shaving power within no time.
Well, that’s it. This was my review for the Braun Series 9 9330s shaver. With a sweet mixture of pros and cons, this model will be a good choice for many of you shaving enthusiasts out there!
Remington RX7 (XR1600)
Pros
- Mess free shave
- Top-notch ergonomics
- Flexible head movement
Cons
- Buying replacement parts is not easy
Hey there fellow grooming aficionados! Recently, I got my hands on the new Remington RX7 (XR1600) head shaver. Some might recall its predecessor, the Balder Pro. Well, let’s dive into my personal experience with this upgraded gadget and see if it’s truly worth your money.
Straight out of the box, the RX7 exudes a bit of luxury. It’s sleeker, feels more refined than the Balder Pro. You can tell they’ve made some design enhancements, and it does feel like you’re holding a premium product.
One thing I loved immediately was its ergonomics. The body itself is the handle, and the sides come with a rubberized texture, making sure you’ve got a firm grip, especially during those wet shaves.
Boasting five rotary-type blades with dual track features, this shaver is all about flexibility. Those blades adapt inwards and outwards to the shape of your head. The neck of the blade head is nifty too – it moves in different directions, ensuring a close shave.
But here’s the kicker: the RX7 promises a 30% more flex compared to the Balder Pro. While I did notice the added flexibility, did it translate to a better shave?
Not necessarily. The shaving quality felt on par with the Balder Pro.
Ah, the new Turbo button! It revs up the motor for a faster shave. It’s a cool feature, especially if you’re in a rush. But, in terms of closeness? I didn’t notice any significant difference from the Balder Pro.
The RX7 boasts a robust battery life, giving you a solid 60 minutes of shave time. And the 4-level battery indicator? Super helpful. Charging it for the first time? Give it 2 hours. Oh, and the power cord is USB-based, sans plug.
For those who prefer options, you can use the RX7 for both wet and dry shaving. You can even lather up with your favorite shaving foam or cream.
And cleaning? It’s 100% waterproof, so you can rinse it right under the tap. Though, a little tip from me: first remove the cutter head to clear out any trapped hairs. A dash of bacterial hand soap gives it that extra clean touch.
Remington threw in a pop-up detail trimmer – handy for those sideburns or tiny touch-ups. And for peace of mind?
Register your RX7 online within the first month, and you’ll score a bonus year on your warranty, making it a total of 3 years.
To wrap up, while the RX7 has its charms and subtle upgrades, I wouldn’t necessarily rush out to replace your Balder Pro. If you find a deal and both are priced similarly? Absolutely go for the RX7. Otherwise, the Balder Pro is still a fantastic pick.
Remington HC4250 Shortcut Pro
Pros
- Lightweight
- Ergonomic curved design
- Waterproof
Cons
- Blades are prone to rusting
- Not as precise as a rotary shaver
Recently, I’ve been trying out the Remington HC4250 Shortcut Pro for about a month, and boy, do I have some thoughts to share!
As someone who’s been battling the balding blues, I’ve had my fair share of experiences with different clippers, razors, and shavers.
So when I got my hands on the Shortcut Pro, I was both excited and a tad skeptical.
At a glance, it’s like no clipper I’ve ever seen. Remington calls it a “Self-Haircut Kit“, and it truly is.
Shaped to fit snugly into the palm, its compact and ergonomic design was the first thing that caught my attention.
No elongated handles like traditional clippers; instead, you grip it from the sides.
It’s surprisingly lightweight too, weighing in at 180 grams, lighter than my usual Wahl Magic Clipper.
Now, let’s talk blades. This bad boy sports stainless steel, self-sharpening blades.
What’s unique is their curved design, perfectly conforming to the shape of one’s head.
This feature alone makes it a breeze to give oneself an even, sharp haircut. I was pleasantly surprised at how close the shave was, especially with the blades being nearly zero-gapped.
The curved, wide blade lets you cover a vast cutting area with fewer strokes. Talk about efficiency!
It comes packed with 9 comb attachments, ranging from 1.5mm to 15mm.
Whether you’re going for that buzz-cut look or need to trim your beard, these solid combs snap securely over the blade, allowing for versatility in styling.
I also found them particularly useful for debulking when my hair got a tad too unruly.
Charged by a Li-ion battery, it promises up to 40 minutes of cordless action. But here’s the kicker: you can use it corded too!
Charging from zero to full takes about 4 hours, with a nifty LED to indicate its charging status.
One of my favorite features? It’s waterproof! This makes cleaning it a cinch – just run it under water, give it a good shake, and let it dry.
But a heads up, always make sure it’s completely dry before storing, or those pristine blades might rust.
Having used various clippers over the years, the Shortcut Pro’s wider blade made a world of difference.
I could effortlessly trim the back and top of my head, something I always struggled with using standard clippers.
While other clippers might offer a marginally closer shave, the ease and comfort of using the Remington are unparalleled.
All in all, the Remington HC4250 Shortcut Pro is a game-changer for self-grooming, especially if you’re like me, juggling between a shaved head and some remaining tufts.
Its unique design, combined with its top-tier features, makes it an essential tool in my grooming kit. If you’re in the market for a new clipper, give the Shortcut Pro a whirl. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
Freedom Grooming FlexSeries Electric Head Hair Shaver
Let me share my month-long journey with the FlexSeries Electric Shaver from Freedom Grooming. I mean, if you’re reading this, you probably know the hassle.
Over a decade of baldness under my belt, I’ve ridden the rollercoaster of razors and shavers, from the nostalgic gold-foil Wahl to the three-headed Norelco. But here’s the latest scoop – the Freedom Grooming FlexSeries.
This sleek gadget seemed like every bald man’s dream. Boasting soft alloy blades with Advanced Anti-Bump technology, it promises a smooth and bump-free shave, wet or dry. Another selling point? It’s not just for the head – but more on that later.
Dry shaving? Check. Wet shaving with cream? Check. The shaver glides smoothly, especially with its ergonomic design, perfectly fitting my hand. No more awkward wrist angles!
While I love the 5-blade rotary action for my head, using it on my face? Not so much. It wasn’t as smooth, and honestly, it gave me a bit of razor burn.
The kit is like a mini-grooming station. Beyond the main rotary head, it comes with a precision trimmer complete with safety guards, a nifty nose & ear hair trimmer (because let’s be real, we all need it), an exfoliation brush, a massage pad, and even a USB charging cable.
The shave, while efficient, doesn’t exactly give that baby-soft feel. I mean, it does the job, but if you’re expecting that post-razor smoothness, temper those expectations a bit.
Cleaning was also a bit of a chore. Getting hair out, especially when wet, took more time than I liked.
Now, coming towards the battery. I was pleasantly surprised here. I got multiple shaves out of a single charge.
It’s advertised for 90 minutes, and it certainly lived up to it. Plus, I love the simple light indicator – green for go!
Traveling can be a hassle, especially when you need to look presentable. This all-in-one shaver has become my go-to companion.
From trimming the occasional nose hair to ensuring my head remains shiny and bald, it’s all I need.
Would I recommend the FlexSeries? Absolutely! But remember, while it’s fantastic for the head, it might not replace your trusty facial razor.
I mean, I tried, but it’s just not the same. Still, for its price and versatility, it’s a valuable addition to your grooming arsenal.
AidallsWellup G-672 AW 6D Head Shavers
Hey, fellow groomers! Remember how I shared my experience with the FlexSeries? Well, recently I got my hands on the AidallsWellup G-672 AW 6D Head Shaver, and here’s the low-down.
Right out of the box, I thought, “This looks like an all-in-one machine!” I mean, it claims to be the Jack-of-all-trades with features catering to haircuts, shaving, nose trimming, and cleaning.
With five interchangeable heads, I was pretty stoked about the versatility.
Now, that 6D Veneer Head? It’s not just marketing mumbo-jumbo. This thing genuinely adapts to your face, catching those pesky long and short hairs.
What intrigued me was its ‘Anti-Pinch System’—no more hair tugging, even when the battery’s low!
Speaking of battery life, it’s impressive. I used it for nearly a month before the first charge kicked in.
And it charges pretty quickly too—1.5 hours of charge for 90 solid minutes of usage. That’s plenty for me.
Oh, the joy of cleaning! It’s a breeze. Pop open those razor heads, shake them out, give them a rinse, and let them air dry. No fuss.
Gliding it over my head felt almost therapeutic. It didn’t tug or pull, thanks to its Anti-Pinch System. The shave? Mostly smooth. Some areas had a slight stubble, but it’s not noticeable, especially under wigs. But for those rare wig-less days, it does the trick just fine.
The additional clippers come in handy, especially when my hair grows out a bit. As for the other attachments, I haven’t had much use for them, but they’re a nice touch.
If you’re looking for an easy-to-use head shaver, I’d recommend the AidallsWellup G-672. However, a piece of advice? Opt for the insurance.
It’s a great product, but a little extra assurance never hurts, especially with the way gadgets are built these days. It’s a trusty sidekick, especially if you’re always on the move.
Wyklaus FK-8730 Head Shaver
Well, hello there! You have reached the last shaver of this review, so congratulations. Let’s dive right in.
Unboxing this shaver was like Christmas morning. Sleek, stylish, and giving off total future vibes! I mean, a 7D Floating Shaving Head? I was intrigued.
The best part is that it’s super gentle. No tugging, no pinching. Just a smooth glide across my bald crown. It’s like it’s dancing on my head.
But, what’s with the 7D? It felt as if my scalp went on a journey through different dimensions of smoothness.
And boy, the grip is fantastic! I’ve tried some shavers that felt like trying to hold onto a wet fish – not this bad boy.
The multifunctionality is a major win. Not only does it tackle the head, but it’s got tools for nose hair, general trimming, and even a brush. Perfect for the fellow who wants an all-in-one grooming experience.
And that LED Intelligent Display? Fancy! It’s like having a tiny robot assistant telling me how much juice is left.
If you’re a foam enthusiast like me, good news! Lather up and get a refreshing wet shave, or go commando with a dry one.
Being waterproof is a plus because I’m kind of clumsy and my gadgets often end up having a little swim.
Now, I have to mention, while it’s a dream for my head, my face wasn’t its biggest fan. The fit just wasn’t right for my jawline.
I’ve been using electric shavers for a while, jumping from one brand to another. This Wyklaus FK-8730? It’s up there in my top list.
Easy to use, ergonomic design, fantastic battery life (one charge lasted me what felt like ages), and efficient.
Would I recommend it? In a heartbeat! If you’re on the fence, give it a shot. My only advice: If you have a face shape like mine, maybe don’t toss out your facial shaver just yet.
So, all in all? Welcome to the bald and the beautiful club, my friends. With the Wyklaus FK-8730, you’re in for a smooth ride! Cheers to embracing the chrome dome!
Final Verdict
And with that, we are here on our final verdict. In my opinion, an electric shaver is truly your best friend if you want a nice, clean shave.
It is practical and feasible and there are many affordable models available as you have already witnessed.
However, there are certain questions that you must answer before you pick the best shaver. For instance, “How much will I be using the shaver?”
Or “Will I use it on my face as well?”
Once you know the answers to these questions, choosing the best electric head shaver will be a breeze for you!
After diving deep into the world of head shavers, it’s time to weigh the pros and cons tailored to what you’re looking for.
Take, for instance, the Skull Shaver Pitbull. It’s a champ when it comes to delivering that pristine bald look. But here’s the catch: it’s most effective on shorter hair.
Now, let’s say you’re someone who goes for the full head shave only once a week, yet you’re adamant about that super close finish.
In this case, combining forces (think a trusty hair clipper followed by a rotary head shaver) might be your best bet.
Use this guide as your springboard. It’s here to help you sift through the choices and find what works best for you. Happy grooming!
